It may be an excellent boutique hotel in Melbourne or Sydney, a simple safari camp with the stunning Kimberley as a backdrop or a luxury tent on an island reached by boat from another island only accessible by air or sea. Fine Hotels - a selection of more traditional established hotels that stand out for their locations, service, cuisine and overall experience.
Boutique Hotels - smaller intimate hotels often with an emphasis on contemporary design & architecture that stand out from the crowd.
Hosted Guesthouses and B&Bs - these character inns and places to stay are all about warmth and hospitality of fine hosts in the regions they love. This category is broad ranging from station & homestays to B&Bs.
Lodges & Retreats - as a rule, lodges and retreats are luxurious, often boasting stunning natural settings. They range from character properties, such as caves, to exclusive, finely decorated hideaways.
Island Escapes - with by far the world's longest & largest coral reefs and a seemingly never ending coastline it goes without saying that there are a multitude of island escapes. All quite different in style they reflect their location and wonderful watery settings.
Cottages & Holiday Homes - generally self contained, sometimes with breakfast as an option, cottages & holiday homes are great for holing up for a few days or longer on those long itineraries. Both traditional and contemporary they tend to reflect their Australian owners & their culture.
Safari Camps - in the 'top end' and a few other locations set amongst remote and amazing scenery are a few permanent tented safari camps. Though they differ in facilities and standards they do offer a fantastic experience in some of Australia's most remote areas.
