Travel Designer Role with Beyond the Blue

Beyond the Blue is seeking two full time (40 hours a week) passionate and detail-oriented Travel Designers to join our inbound travel team, specialising in crafting unique and memorable Australian itineraries for international visitors. You will play a key role in designing and selling tailored travel experiences across Australia, working closely with overseas tour operators and agents, clients, and suppliers.

 

Travel Designer Responsibilities

·       Design customised itineraries throughout Australia for FIT (Free Independent Traveller) and small group markets based on client interests, budgets, and travel preferences.

·       Respond to enquiries from international tour operators, agents, and clients in a timely and professional manner.

·       Manage bookings including accommodation, tours, transport, and experiences using the Beyond the Blue reservation system and supplier portals.

·       Build strong relationships with international travel trade partners, providing expert advice and destination knowledge.

·       Coordinate logistics and provide seamless pre-arrival and in-country travelling support to ensure an extraordinary client experience.

·       Stay informed about tourism products, supplier offerings, new experiences, and regional developments across Australia.

·       Achieve sales targets and contribute to team goals through high-quality service and itinerary conversions.

·       Represent the company at trade shows or familiarisation (famil) trips when required.

 

Travel Designer Skills and Experience

·       Ideally 2 years’ experience in a similar role within inbound travel, or Australian domestic travel.

·       Australian based, Sydney or Noosa preferred, with flexibility. Please state your intended place of work in your application.

·       Right to work in Australia required. Preference given to those with long-term working rights. Short-term working visas will be considered, with the possibility of sponsorship post-probation. Please note, this is a permanent position and better suited to those with long-term aspirations at Beyond the Blue.

·       In-depth knowledge of Australian destinations, accommodations and tourism experiences.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

·       High attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple bookings.

·       Proficiency in reservations systems (e.g. Tourwriter or similar) is an advantage.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative interstate and international team, including reporting to the managers and directors of the company.
